Fragmentation

The more a hard drive is used, the greater amount of activity causing computer hick-ups or software problems; will arise. Thus, defragmenting the hard drive provides faster software launching / loading, without the need for unnecessary hardware upgrades.

Also, fragmentation's results in a greater amount of time for the read/write heads to format and link files together, to form meaning. When preventing fragmentation's from reoccurring, the sectors and clusters will behave in accessible manners; as the data is performed, meaningfully.

A fragmented hard drive has broken data scatter though tracks and clusters on the hard disk. Because the computer has to work harder to access data, scatter haphazard; links are established to create an electronic connection for retrieving the appropriate data, as it relates to the commands needed for the linked - scatter information. Thereby, defragmenting the hard drive provides smoother data transcription with less loading time and waiting for programs to run a linked file.

As a consequence, information is accessed sequentially, rather than, extra time and money are used as wait-time occurs implemented by the read/write heads.
